Mitski vibes yes, not so sure about Haley though hmm

Also if we're gonna compare Real Pain to anything, it should be Only Acting. Not sure why this didn't occur to me earlier hmm

On (too many) repeat listens, I think I prefer the debut very slightly, but love all the little excursions this album goes on. I think I would've liked if the 17 sound was returned to, but it's an interesting little sleight of hand regardless. And Hold U is as interesting as a more obvious pop track, I guess.

would've loved more 17-esque songs as well but goddamn this is a great album regardless

Yeah the artwork is great. Wonder if she'll keep the same style/characters in future. They make me want to find dumb conceptual links between the two albums -- especially with the last one opening with 'This Is How I Get Myself Killed' and this ending on 'Kill Me'; both about submitting to violence (real or not) in very bad relationships??? -- but I don't think there's anything that on the nose. What's common between them feels incidental to be being written by the same artist (shocker).

I was sleeping on the debut for sure. prefer this as a whole but Sick in the Head might be the best song on either album
