I really do wish there were more clear/obvious references to the original Colors. Not having the album littered with them of course but at least a few. I appreciate the subtlety and I love when I hear it after a few listens, but Between The Buried and Me's style is anything but subtle, and to claim that only subtle references/fan service is good I fully disagree with.

All I am saying is that for a band as in your face and over the top as BTBAM it would've improved the experience even more if used sparingly and in the right spots.

Great review overall and this is definitely only a matter of opinion.

I don't get why I should care about references at all? If they're only there to be references, that seems like a bad thing to me. I don't mind this one since it's meaningful content-wise.

Perfect review, even if we differ in scores.

I think this is a looking like a solid 4.5, which would make it the third best BTBAM after Colors and Dialogues

Nice review. I'm bouncing between a 4.5 and 5 on this, I'm glad this got some positive coverage.

Me too honestly. It would’ve been weird to see this as album of the month and then get redirected to a 2.5 review from an outsider perspective at least.

Only now seen the Fix the Error video. That was well made holy shit

I'm so done with normal music videos of vague symbolism plus SEEING THE BAND PLAY BECAUSE THAT'S SO EXCITING.

It does sadden me how many people don't see that this is a genuine effort
