yeah on my second spin now since first listening the other day when this dropped and I can definitely tell my enjoyment of this will take time to build and will grow as I get acquainted with all the songs and the lyrical content and piece together what Gareth and Co. are actually saying and get a general idea of what all the songs are about...

first listen was just a test drive - wasn't necessarily giving it my undivided attention but pretty much all the new tracks that had yet been unheard ("Greatest Story Ever Told", "Blue Beam Baby", "The Donkey" and "Reporting of a Failed Campaign") went mostly or entirely over my head

review and the pages on genius helping speed things along a little

"Legal Ghost" was kind of a no-brainer for me though... Gareth been writing about that from the start =\

then again, also been listening to it since they dropped the single last year... the Bong Odyssey version's good too

Yes, this is the only reason/scale I use to rate albums on this site. Jokes aside I did feel like this was on the "just" better side of excellent.

Thanks for praise all, and Goon of Fortune is blessed. I'll have to expose y'all to the superior Kiwi drinking game, Possum, in due course.

"The song’s title and subject matter refers to the Blue Beam conspiracy theory, which dictates that NASA is working with the UN to pass the antichrist off as the second coming of Jesus, establishing a worldwide unified religion and a new world order.

The conspiracy theory has recently become popularised again due too the Covid-19 pandemic as the theorised final stage of this new world order coming into place is the controlling of the masses via epidemics."

lol wut
