easycore is pop punk aka the worst subgenre in existence, but with breakdowns

Never had any interest in this band whatsoever, but that first paragraph got me curious about the one tr00 easycore riff. Fun.

Probably will never listen to this album. This review is great, basically.

cheers inferno, the iconic opening lyric (first six words) can be heard here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88hfEqJaCtE (the synth line is equally iconic tbf)

Band's name is terrible, agreed. These guys make fun, light-hearted music. I enjoy some of their stuff casually, but you can tell they're stretching the subgenre to its absolute limits here. They've inadvertently boxed themselves within a certain sound and this is them trying to deal with it now.

The pop punk parts of this are better than anything the big bands of the genre have released in the last couple of years, and the heavy mosh parts are tastefully spread throughout to feel special and rare enough.

Honestly, despite being an easycore fan in my early 20's I always thought this band was a bit of a joke.

I was pretty shocked at how catchy and fun the title track was and am pleasantly surprised to find that the rest of the album is just as strong.

This sounds genre defining much like Homesick did back in 2009. It's just come 12 years later. The nostalgia mixed with the catchy melodies and tasteful breakdowns just fires on all my cylinders.

If you don't like the genre I can't see this swaying anybody, but it's just a bloody fun easycore record for the rest of us. A little surprised by the low rating.

this is fuckin incredible, the dynamics and insane transitions these guys pull off aren't as easy to pull off as it seems. that being said, even though i couldn't disagree more, this is a really well written review jesper :')))
