that explains why you fawn over Emmure's paint-by-numbers lazy "I'm so tough and edgy" shit

Emmure is nowhere near one of my favorites.

But I would much rather listen to them than listen to this.

Also, I don't think you can make fun of things for being paint by numbers when you like this and BFMV lol

big difference here, emmure only evokes this really primal "i'm so edgy" feeling while this and that do something more impactful with how i approach music tbhhh

Yeah because a song like Not My Problem is so impactful and good.

I think Spirit really nailed my thoughts on this album too. It really sounds like this band hasn't tried since Ungrateful (even that album fell off pretty hard for me). But part of me is pleased to know that someone still cares for these guys.

Emmure is the band that hated the vocalist so much they tried to kick him out but Frankie beat them to the punch and fired them all first.

Same stale poppy metalcore garbage. Craig is 34, and he’s still writing these kinds of songs / lyrics… so when’s he going to be outed as a nonce?

“There’s people all around me, I just wanna be alone… I feel much better when I’m drowning on my own” - a 34 year old man.

that moment when those are feelings people can have regardless of age but somehow that's an own

"so when’s he going to be outed as a nonce?" no idea but if that happens i'll be disappointed. dude comes off incredibly wholesome and chill on his streams and at shows. i met a dude a while back that had met Craig at a meet and greet and when Craig found out he'd been playing Dead by Daylight with him for months and having tons of fun with him, he was like "HOLY SHIT THAT'S YOU?" and he was so happy that this dude just saw him as another person and didn't idolize him in a creepy way like some fans tend to do with band dudes.

maybe I've been over-spoiled by bad music for too long (bro country is always on in the car when my gf is driving) but this doesn't sound as bad as everyone seems to make it out to be. its horrible for sure, but this has been the expected level of quality from ETF for a long time now. The new Smashing Pumpkins is far worse lel

Maybe it's just me. But I'd take pre-2015 escape the fate over their recent output.

This album was awful. As a HUGE fan of DIYLF and someone who was even fine with TWIO, Self titled and Ungrateful, Spirit nailed it that the 'band' has come across extremely lazy since then. This album is so devoid of anything interesting. It is like a standard template for a by the numbers below average radio rock song with no uniqueness.

Right? At least early craig era, the band still had some ideas and tried playing with some new sounds. It feels like this band has lost its identity and/or personality.

Well the band has quite literally lost every original member aside from the drummer so I suppose we shouldn’t be all that surprised. Monte leaving was the nail in the coffin and even at that point they had fallen off already.

Thats also true but still a shame. Especially since everyone has been apart of better projects in the past. I can't even recall many good guitar lines on this album.

Y'all might have a point with these last couple songs. I'm a little surprised I held on this long, but I feel like ETF finally are in that "even I'm struggling to really find things to love here" category with these new singles. Like fuck, this album was polarizing but I honestly think even at its worst it's still better than these two new ones.
