Great page break

randfilt is rly good
yeah vocals are my least favorite part about this overall for sure, not too crazy about robby's low octave tone here and does make me feel like i wish they had just sung less. instrumentally tho this album rules on pretty much every song
|
| |
i'm a fool

Valerie was very good on YWNKW so I’m optimistic
|
| |
she was v good but there are too many dual vocal harmonies ft. both on here and they kinda drag it a bit. would vibe it more if it was just her
|
| |
Album is boring vocally and melodically but absolutely exquisite from a musical/production standpoint
|
| |
yeah valerie sounds lovely as always but it's really difficult to remember any vocal parts that aren't layered in octaves, which is something i usually dig, but it just seems really almost lazy here in a way that takes away from the otherwise extremely gr8 instrumentals
|
| |
the imbalance of quality between those two aspects of this album make me assume it was rushed in a way but possibly not lol either way i will def be listening again/probably a lot

Surviving a smile is fantastic

Idk melodically I’d say it’s pretty damn good lol. And yeah the fact that a lot of this sounds like Halica but better produced lends to it as the potential favorite of their LPs.

They do the whole dual singing too much on here. It’s less tasteful and emphatic when it happens, but that’s still just a small nitpick for now.

The dual singing really hits the spot on Chapters tho!
|
| |
man that first track is intense
|
| |
first track is great, def got that “chocolate matter”-chorus rhythm going on but don’t mind the similarity. Second track is great too
|
| |
first song is one of the best, really set the bar high for me. the second song however is prob one of my least favorite ST songs ever
|
| |
Ugh when the bass changes/sorta deepens during the second chorus of “surviving a smile” wooooo

Loving the retro slow dance vibes in Surviving a Smile honestly

When Autumn hits... all will 5 this

surviving a smile is awesome for the last like minute where there are no vocals. all of my vocal gripes began with that song
