tbf I did like some parts of the KEXP stream and really enjoyed the spectacle of the whole thing, but am expecting diminishing returns on record hmm

Amusing that the best track here is probably gonna end up being 'Hogwash and Balderdash' - would've been a fitting title to reflect the rest of the album's content.



I wish they hadn't stripped a lot of this back, the guy's voice is nowhere near good enough to hold the quieter moments together. The more maximalist/off-kilter/noisy approach actually works for them, a lot of the sedate, deliberate builds fail to capture the imagination.
