Well we can argue all day long about whether they are justified or not. It all goes back to taste, which is obviously subjective.
I don't remember Floyd ever really demanding to be taken seriously. I think it just goes with the territory, people's expectations being what they are. They obviously liked writing about big ideas, and I don't really think you can label someone pretentious for doing what they enjoy.

I'm using "pretentious" as a synonym for exaggerated and pompous, which Pink Floyd often are. Pretentiousness isn't an automatic negative. It's just a quality to the music.

I've actually been listening to this lately myself, and I must say it's growing on me. The more obvously dull songs are horrible, but overall I'm starting to like it more. And you'll probably be unbanned tomorrow or something. Hopefully I will, too. :upset:
