When the LP shows that the sounds comprising its EP lead to a lesser experience, yes.

That’s fair I guess. My thought was that early EPs and singles are likely to fade into relative obscurity over time so imo I don’t mind if a debut LP is basically just a summation of what a band has done before.

After listening to this I would just ask you if you think they will ever write something better than the cleaner?

also my issue with the dual vox in narrator is they sound like prolapse and no one ever hypes about prolapse anymore and prolapse are better than all of these bands and they were about more than two decades ago

Schlagenheim is one of them [2] standing shin to shin with Daughters in the midst of the middest

That last Daughters album was very good. Check that one.

"does my head in a bit about how blatant all the influences on these albums are"

reminds me of most music

Last Daughters was mostly dull, unconvincing vocal performance with a couple of highlights. Good guitar music. Their s/t is far better

Their s/t might be better, prob not. You Won't Get What You Want is one of the most abrasive things I've ever heard, and the best rock album since ok computer.

@Pheromone
That just sounds like most music, perhaps you are very familiar with the post-punk of the past. Idk what "scene" you are on about though.

Okay haha listen to Rated R this might sound really weird, but one of their vocalists (there are more than one!!) screams on some songs but it sounds good because it really works for the mood so be patient with it!!

hmmm I'll try, but I don't normally like pretentious music.

edit: this is prob the best of this new scene if I just knew what the scene was

it's not pretentious John Homme sings with his whole heart. there's a bonus track when he says 'i might like u better if we slept together' and it's the realest thing ever even though it's just a cover LOL

also the middle section of Peel St. has some huge fking Thousand Leaves vibes going on, but this is good because it reminds me what I like about that album. probably one of the better songs

woaah thousands leaves. That's the best album. After ok computer and solo violin improvisations (1979) of course.
