"don't need you is such a great tune"
remix with Mick Jenkins might be even better than the original, too

Thanks for getting out such a good review of this. I don’t listen to much outside of my comfort zone and would’ve missed this if not for such a good review.
At least a 4.

Also - when he does spoken word bits like ‘Waitin’ On Ya’ - ‘save money on sunglasses by stayin in the shade’ he sounds like Jemaine from Flight Of The Conchords and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me

I'm all about Centrefold, Fishing and Whip Cracker here, but yeah, once I got over the initial confusion Don't Need You sunk its hooks in me
I think the only expendable tune here is Easy, it's likable enough but I'm not sure it justifies its presence. missing that THEMATIC COHERENCE
don't know if I'm totally convinced with Bye Bye as a closer (over the two songs preceding it especially) either, but fuck it I've been playing this nonstop. bump

The first half of this album is a 5 imo
After ‘I Dont See Colour’ it’s less amazing but still good
All of the first nine tracks have something really unique and often subtly genius going on, whether it’s the reversed sample in centrefold, old school ska vibes in Don’t Need You, 80s rock straight out of a ski movie parody on Drown or the awesome vocalised beat and flows on I Don’t See Colour.
I hope the back half grows on me as much too as it’s more low-key it might take longer

Agreed shemson, the initial run is just about spotless and filled with more actual musical highlights than the end; as much as I'd argue that the album does a good job of tying up its themes in the end.
Thanks FedEx!
bloc, it's a metaphor about the hollowness of how we attempt to fix our problems- superficially (and poorly, so the first aid jab on the first page remains funny, but loses its punch). He discusses it in his fantano interview (kinda wish he kept it up his sleeve, but hey, there's your answer)
