So hard to rank the tracks, but I'm going to attempt it anyway:
(1) Faint Repeater - This isn't the most elaborate track here, but it's just so lush. With those breathtaking background vocals and that expertly delivered solo, it feels like an oasis. [5/5]
(2) Fly Migrator - They couldn't have chosen a better song to open the album. This has everything from wicked riffs to delicate pools of ambience. Everything is about this is catchier than a ~10 minute country-gressive-delic track should be, too. [5/5]
(3) Antlers in Velvet - This was the biggest grower so far. Lyrics are sad/forlorn, and his southern accent as he repeats the titular mantra while the song fades into bluegrass acoustics is sheer country/Americana perfection. (4.8/5)
(4) This Whisper is Ours - The most mesmerizing track. The melody is downright transcendent. [4.6/5]
(5) Skeletal Pines - Breathtaking psychedelic ballad. The pianos add elegance to the entire album while the electric guitars add a sense of majesty without overpowering the atmosphere's soft, glowing warmth. Choral melody is a tad derivative of Pink Floyd's WYWH t/t, but otherwise flawless. [4.5/5]
(6) Rumors of Water - Awesome mid-tempo track. The guitars and vocals/verses are equally impressive. Nothing about it "stands out" as much as the above 5 cuts, but this is really just another song that anchors Antlers in Velvet in excellence. [4.3/5]
(7) Tigris - The way this alternates between heavy uptempo rock and slow, relaxed balladry is a really cool concept. The transitions are slightly clunky in my opinion, but that doesn't stop the final 2 minutes of this from rocking my socks off every time. [4/5]
(8) Divining Rods - Nothing wrong with this at all, it's just a pretty interlude. [3.5/5]

This is one of those albums where tags don't do it justice, Pikazilla.
It could easily be a great album knowing your taste, but it's gonna depend on how you feel about slide guitar.
The country/americana in this is extremely tame.

Example: I tried their older project out, Wrinkled Neck Mules, and it is NOT my jam. However, I love every song on this album.

The beginning of This Whisper is Ours gives me strong "Breathe (In The Air)" vibes. Like a lot.

Garth what's your track ranking
I've been OBSESSED with Faint Repeater

Album Rating: 4.5
Oh, man. Never done a ranking before so here we go. Gonna go in order of the tracklist.
1. Fly Migrator - Drums are insane at the beginning. The layers of the guitars are dreamy (very Floyd). The vocals sound like if David Gilmour was born in Nashville. The layers of the vocals really make this track. Background vocals give me Dark Side energy, and it's beautiful. Great use of synth by only using it when needed (5/5)
2. Faint Repeater - Probably the best intro. Synth pulling you left and right with a slow drum build. This is when I realized how atmospheric this album was going to be. Strings in the back while he sings really bring this song together. The multiple vocals when he says "repeater" is now stuck in my head. My favorite part is when the slide guitar starts to take control after the first chorus. Excellent use of piano. Guitar solo at 3:24 is exceptional. (5/5)
3. This Whisper is Ours - Probably the most straightforward track of the album, but is very needed. The intro, like I stated above, gives me Floyd's Breath In The Air vibes and I am all for it. My favorite vocals on the entire album. The raspy voice is more noticeable in this track. The beat is a little bit more electronic, and it works here. The ending with the brass makes this a standout track even if the song slightly overstayed its welcome. (4.8/5)
4. Divining Rods - This serves its purpose well. It's a short interlude that mellows us out, and prepares us for what is to come. It's really good, but not something I'm clamoring to relisten to outside of a full album listen. (3.5/5)

5. Rumors of Water - Again, the raspy voice comes in a little here. I love how it kicks into gear immediately. No need for a minute long intro. Tempo change a minute in is fun, but kind of loses me. I think the singing sounds too much like The Whisper is Ours. What makes this track fall from being just a good track are the EXCEPTIONAL guitar solos. The best solos on the album IMO. (4/5)
6. Skeletal Pines - I usually don't like ballads, but god damn does it work here. The horns steal the show for me. All of the layers in this track really blew me away. Nothing overpowering the other. Background vocals add a dreamy and delicate side to the song. I feel like I am laying on a cloud listening to this. Like you, it does sound a little like WYWH worship, but that doesn't knock it down too much for me either. WYWH is my favorite Floyd album, and in my top 4 all time. (4.5/5)
7. Tigris - Back are the weird and psychedelic intros from the first half of the album. Kicks into a more traditionally rock song, and I think it works really well here. I love how it slows down and goes back to some Shine On You worship, but I feel like this Floyd worship doesn't work as well here. Slide guitar is great, but I feel like the keys should've taken more control of this track. It's definitely the weakest track on the album for me. Like you, last 2 minutes rock my socks off. Even at the weakest point of the album, they still manage to keep your attention. (4/5)
8. Antlers in Velvet - Fucking love this song. It's beautiful in every way. One of the best vocal tracks for me. The beginning gets my emotions going with every listen. The background vocals coming in a minute in is just exceptional. I feel like this song is a perfect example of how well this album uses everything in just the right moments and amounts. The acoustic guitar with the slide guitar layered behind is brilliant. What works here is they don't try to end this album with complexity. Strip back any layer, and it's quite simple. Add them together and you get an absolutely beautiful sendoff. The banjo to end the album is a 10 out of 10 choice. (5/5)
Favorite tracks: Fly Migrator, Faint Repeater, Antlers in Velvet
Sorry if that was a bit much, had a lot to say.

Awesome work on that Garth, and I agree 100% with everything you said. You basically covered it better than my actual review did!
Edit: Damn page break, you should re-post here Garth so it doesn't get glossed over.

Also, I'm so glad to see your love for the title track. The first couple times I listened I thought it was kind of an unimpactful closer, but now I realize that it's absolutely perfect in context. Easily my third favorite as of now, has the potential to become my top track with more time.
