Don't have a solid opinion on this at the moment but I like it better than the last record for sure.

Yeah, I did not look at my clock once wondering when the Hell it was going to be over, so a big ol step in the right direction

I'm going to check this out based on the band name, and cover art alone.

@WatchItExplode

Brandon Gillichbauer. He was initially the band's bassist but took up vocals on their third album and this.

this is the first i've heard from this band but holy fuck this is top stuff, that refrain from "Human Shaped Hole" has been an earworm for the past week.

I haven't heard anything between this and I Am God Songs but it sounds like they've gotten rid of the gimmick tones which is good.

Album art and title are both 5/5

Music is 3-3.5/5

This is dec. Can't say it does much to set itself apart from any of its peers aside from throwing a horn on 'Ren'. This is something I would have really liked in the mid 00's. The thing that is strange to me is how little sludge (and most metal really) has evolved in the last decade+ and how a lot of people don't seem to mind at all. Is there really no new ground to tread?

Coalesce is like the unsung hero of big 4 late 90s/early 2000s mathcore
