High Again is undisputedly a jam and a half. Best track on the album.

how would you compare these songs to Stoned, Again and Outside of Love?

nothing here is as good as those two but 'high again' aims for a similar high (lol) as stoned, alone and is v v good (just less dreamy)

Less dreamy ? Diff singer? This straying into christian rock territory after sampling a couple tracks...

lmaoo, n yeah their guitarist has taken over lead vocal duties. it's mostly solid though, but kamtin is sorely missed

FUCK

Sits between a 3 and a 3.5 for me. The first couple songs have so much promise but then it kinda fizzles out in the middle.

This sounds rly generic to me but I don't think it's outright bad or anything. Sounds sort of like the alt rock stuff I used to like back in hs, with a bit of a shoegazy aesthetic. I would enjoy this much more with a different vocalist or no vocalist.

^Yeah, might have to lower the score on this one. We'll see if I care to listen to it again haha.

As a whole this album turned out a lot better than the singles led on, but it's still the weakest in TW's catalog. "Probably 3.2 but here's a 3.5" is pretty spot on for me.

Title track on this bumps hard. I've noticed a major trend of bands re-incorporating sounds from the 90s into their music, it's becoming trendy. The swirling guitar tones from groups like My Bloody Valentine or the Stone Roses (if you know what I'm talking about then you'll understand what I mean). A bit of a shoegaze-y vibe to it. Then you have bands like this one which apparently I'm told is just a single dude and his session musicians now who are bringing back those rich grunge tones that I have missed. Another band that has been doing this for a little while now is the similarly structured Dinosaur Pile-Up from the UK, also the project of one dude (though in that instance I can say that the guy is ridiculously talented, multi-instrumentalist etc.)
Anyway, I was so stoked to see this ranked in the top albums when I came to the page today. I have good feelings about the state of rock/guitar music again. In fact I think a lot of people have been missing out on how good it's been for a decent stretch...I'll be quiet now.

Nostalgia is a 30-year cycle. Last decade was all about the '80s, this decade will probably be all about the '90s. Get your flannels now before the market explodes.

I quite like this, I see the shoegaze tag tho and I don't get that from this album besides silverspoon I guess, do they have "shoegazier" stuff I should check?
