This shit is real nice, hitting the spot for me right now. Tracks 1-4 are especially great. So sick that Broadrick is still pumping out excellent albums as Jesu and also Godflesh.

it’s a lot better if u think about it as like, a classic style slowcore album

Lyrics are so bleak, definitely thinking this is a divorce album.
Still can't get enough of this, those riffs just sucks me in. Title track is probably my song of the year.

Wow, I like this even more upon relistening. This is giving me grower-album type vibes but I'm already really enjoying it.

anyone else itt prefer selfless to other godflesh albums ? no one ever feels this way but mantra and empyreal are untouchable
|
| |
I dunno about preferring it over the others (hard to rank) but Selfless is definitely a jam and a bit underrated imo.

yeah Selfless is amazing in its own way, no bad or boring song on it.
Terminus gets better and better with every listen. Perfect for november or december. Sleeping In is perfect when you see it's snowy outside and you then take a walk outside.
When I Was Small has a foggy atmosphere similar to The Chameleons - Script Of The Bridge (even if a completely different genre) and was easy for me to love. Consciousness is a bit overlooked, it's very desolate and angsty and the guitar part from 1:20 on often makes me cry.

lol I listened to this on my iPod (first time listening with headphones) while walking to get some food the other day and I couldn't hear the bass on "Consciousness" at all

Interesting rating curve

It is. I feel like I might've given it a 3 after one or two listens but I started to appreciate it a lot more from there.
And yeah, When I Was Small into Alone is solid as hell.
