yeah this is nice, just not so keen on the vocals

Just curious, does everyone giving this album a good review understand it’s lyrics? I certainly don’t, and I would still give a 4 easy.

I never pay attention to lyrics anyway so being in another language gives me an easy excuse not to lol

Can’t even imagine haha I guess if the music alone is that stimulating for you.. I bet there’s a lot of songs you appreciate that would be even better if you saw how the lyrics matched the sonic themes.. this is one of those albums where as good as it is, seems it would benefit from understanding the context of each song.

that's one of my issues with music to be honest, i've got a much bigger personal appreciation for sonic texture or instrumentation rather than lyrics. folk albums like Sufjan Steven's Carrie and Lowell don't do anything for me because like 75% of its musical substance comes from lyrical value.
the layered instrumentals here are super dense with harmonies and conjure a lot of beautiful imagery without even understanding the lyrics

Wow this is beautiful.

I kinda understand most of it as galician is similar to spanish. It's mostly poetic stuff about woods and nature. As a non-english native it's a change to have lyrics in our language (or close enough)
But in the end I have to mostly agree with Ledd, the music is great and it's the most important part. Lyrics are a nice to have but definitely not as important as the atmosphere the music creates. I strongly disagree about Carrie & Lowell though, there are some seriously beautiful songs there (Shadow of the cross/Should have known better...)

Starting to feel dat five, bois and girls

As long as the lyrics don't actively make the music worse, it doesnt phase me much
Besides, I think there's something nice about not knowing lyrical meaning if they're in a different language

They have a very heavy Galician accent indeed.
"Unha Das Peores Cousas Que Escoitéi No 2019 Foi "Pedir Perdón É Un Acto De Debilidad" is superb! I enjoy this more than 'Noite'.

Its cool how the rev mentioned Portuguese influences. Actually Galician roots feel very close to us, such as their sound.
