This album is art. Not anyone can get it. Owen destroys with every riff. Bass sounds awesome. Barnes is a poet the lyrics are one of the best ones yet. His vocal aproach is unique and different to everything he has done. The album sounds putrid and dirty thanks to him and i love it. If you don't like it then go listen other of the new 5000 death metal bands that sound all the same. I prefer this anyday. The man is a legend not an imitator wannabe.

I’ve always had a soft spot for CB as I loved the bleeding album so much and thought his vocals were great on that, preferred them too earlier CCorpse
But yeah they are just really bad on this album and that screeching is terrible
But I do like some of the riffs, it’s not worthy of a 1.0 it’s better than that

I love the riff to 'the rotting', but the vocals are very average.

Calling these vocals average is the most generous compliment I've ever seen

I mean, the music itself is not bad, solos are superb, the vocals are from bad to average, but tbh besides the 'EEEEE' are bearable. If mixed properly and with some extra work put into it could be a decent raw death metal album.
Still the worst one out of sfu discography.

Barnes sounds really really terrible yeah. I haven't looked into hem properly so I was not expecting him to be so bad, but yeah, don't fee like going beyond the 1st track, which was ok other than vox.

Undead and Haunted are pretty good. This is embarrassing.

I´m diggging it. Not a big fan of death metal, but i can tolerate his vocals and the classic metal sound behind it.
Zodiac and The Noose are my favorite tracks.

The Unspoken King might have been a step in a direction that Cryptopsy should NOT have tried going in, but I've always thought it was legitimately enjoyable taken on its own merits. It's nowhere NEAR the level of bad as the other albums you compared it to.
Anyways, this album is pretty bad. Some of the riffs are kind of fun though, and with a decent vocalist it would be...bland, at worst.

the band sucks balls now but that doesn't mean all their stuff sucks, try the album Death Rituals, ''Undead'' or the debut, as far as I can tell, those are like the only three actually serious albums from the band.
