In that they both use their vocal chords to create sound? Sure, otherwise not at all
|

No, in the fact that their voices sound completely identical. It isn't just that he's falsetto happy like Thom, he sounds like a stand-in for the guy. Like he could start a cover band of Radiohead songs like "Reckoner"

Is that the same Reckoner that’s sung completely in falsetto? Lol
I guess I Might Be Wrong but I just don’t think they are similar enough to bear comparison, which is separate to the fact that it’s a lazy one to make

Might check this. Good review!

slowly becoming a grower

The comparison is as obvious as can be, which I believe is why people are making it. Musically they're different but vocally this guy sounds like Thom Yorke for a lot of this album

remembered that it took me just as long to really start enjoying Get to Heaven

Not feeling this one, vocals are pretty annoying

It Was A Monstering is literally a radiohead song but less charismatic
Probably been said before but somehow it's only becoming apparent to me on the 3rd listen

Really great review, pretty much hit the nail on the head. This is a bit of a step down from their past two albums, but has plenty of highlighted and is bookended by a fantastic opener and closer - "Violent Sun" is maybe my favourite song of the year so far.

Honestly I like this more and more with time. Entire first 6 tracks are fab so I might have to 4 this

Returned to this for the first time in a while and yeah, it finally hit me how much staler it is compared to their previous works. I still enjoy it a lot, but on the strength of a few songs as opposed to a chaotic whole. Was a 4.5, could see it dropping to 3.5
Violent Sun is still one of the best songs of the year though

Agree about Violent Sun

I'm just going to assume everyone saying he sounds like Thom Yorke isn't British because holy crap they have literally completely different accents what are you on
