I had the impression it was about his mother?

It seems disconnected from the wider themes of the album.

Well, there's a defining presence of a 'she' throughout the disc, has someone checked this ain't TPE part III in the booklet?

The lyrics don't mention anything about this being TPE 3, but it does say "TO BE CONTINUED..." after the lyrics for ICON.

I recall Daniel saying in one of these recent interviews that he has songs from this session that will make it to the next album. Sounds like the next one could be a fairly direct sequel.

Yea, Daniel said that. The next album shouldn't be three year from now either

Not sure if this has been said but the t/t on this gives strong Faith No More vibes

I’m in between a 3 and a 3.5 halfway through my third listen. There are some really interesting ideas throughout and there aren’t really any lulls, but it doesn’t have the highs of In the Passing Light... for me, yet at least. Solid release for sure though, I see Gildenlöw is waxing poetic as usual.

Well, I'd say PofS in general have pretty big Faith no More vibes (Used, some of Scarsick), I think also Gildenlow specifically mentioned them quite a few times.

There are always Mike Patton moments with PoS.
