Muscular blast beats
Is this band fronted by Brian Shaw

Some nice stuff here, although maybe not the most creative DM I’ve heard recently. Ultimately the production is a little brash/fatiguing after a while. Plateauing at passable but I’m dropping it from my ‘20 DM rotation.

On the plus-side I have an opening, leaning towards Defeated Sanity (even though I’m not usually a brutal DM sort of guy).

I never have been either, til now. Jammed new DS and lots of stuff clicked for me. They've quickly become one of my favorite bands

DS isn't changing my disinterest in brutal dm. I enjoyed Disentomb a bit more than DS...
Anyway this Faceless Burial is actually really sick

Yo is this single kick?!

yeah i think so, no double bass pedal evident

Album Rating: 3.5
That’s a really interesting stylistic choice. I think some of the riffs would have benefitted from some driving double bass but it’s impressive as hell hes able to keep up on a single pedal

yeah i agree, the drumming could use some more variety (sort of the same problem as when the drummer uses too much of the double kick pedal only in reverse)

grotesque miscreation also rules for those who haven't heard it (got a bit of a grindier feel than this)
