This is just State Champs two, jeez, this era of pop punk is so overproduced, it is barely got any punk in it, 95% pop rock

I'm definitely enjoying this album. SA's knack for writing insanely catchy choruses will serve them well for albums to come. And if they can keep churning out tunes that are the caliber of Soap, Jurassic Park, and Hate Me Sometimes, I'll keep listening for sure.
I'd say the only thing that bothers me here is how the first two tracks are repetitive ad nauseum; they're otherwise solid tracks though.

Hate Me Sometimes is a great radio tune but l didn't really care for a lot of this

iirc Hate Me Sometimes was released as a single like a year before this came out, and it sounds out of place on the album even as the closer

yeah the acoustic part really seemed phoned in. As if they already wrote the song, the producer told them they need that song to end the album, and they thought "well let's just run through that chorus one more time acoustically and we're all good."

entire album is phoned in to hell tbh, one of the biggest disappointments of the year

Gave it a spin today and I actually enjoy it a lot in spite of the blatant overproduction. Definitely liking the heavier elements they got going.

There are some decent enough tracks on here, but also plenty of duds (bordering on annoying in some cases) which ultimately take this album a step lower than their debut.
