Fukushima is the best. They just need to decide to be a shoegaze band and release a classic

Listen to their second album y'all, is under 30 mins, the guy sounds way less misplaced, and it's wall-to-wall noise pop bangers

Lol np - is that one to look forward to btw? Just cleared up her early stuff, haven't heard any of her later albums aside for My Ghost Comes Back?

Definitely, it’s prob #3 for me after from Tokyo to naiagara and blurred in my mirror, tho I still haven’t heard her very latest ones
In sput terms it’s a solid 4 haha

Nice! will power on and hopefully get there soon - bold of you to put Blurred In My Mirror above Shojo Toshi + Hard Ni Sasete though (much as I like that one's first half a lot a lot a lot) lol

I can see how it’s bold, something about it tho. The way the songs kind of assemble themselves as they go per her usual style, but with all these new and subtle variations. To me it seems to mark a point in her discog where it became a bit more ‘soundscapey’ and I just really dig that. Those first two are so great too tho! She’s one of the most consistent artists of that genre/style I’ve come across tbh

Ah interesting - v intrigued to see how she runs with that approach past that album. The more expansive pieces did a lot for me (Tablet For Memory and Switch of the Sun in You ugh so good)
And yeah for real - so consistent! Think she's gonna overtake Bjork for me despite not hitting quite the same highs
