Not any worse than the last Converge album and he rips on there

He is shouting nonsense and is lost in the mix. Whenever the background vocalists come in it sounds way more substantial and interesting.

"Mantra of madness in systematic disrepair. Rotting dumping ground for the convenient thoughts and prayers. Groomed for the perversion and veiled to abuse. My word is a weapon that is pointed right at you" Yes, he's totally bashing women. /s

Seriously tho I get you want to think any "breakup" lyrics where the woman isn't perceived as a perfect angel (its perfectly possible for ANYONE to be a prick...not just men) but this is the biggest stretch ever Sach

Well at least this is superior to Dusk. Mostly agreed with the review in that this may have been a missed opportunity.

Late af to this party. It definitely is a little safe. The vocals here are pulverizing though, and the songs are fun and brutal. There's some kind of UMPH that you'd expect that isn't there. Honestly I feel like the guitar tone is a bit duller than it should be. It should be more sharp and crunchy.

Honestly this isn't even on the heavier side of death metal and you would expect that with a line up this STACKED with great heavy musicians. I want more brutality and more creative songwriting. Loved Gunfance's pinch harmonic freakouts and the guitarwork has some nuggets of greatness. Lot of untapped potential here that I hope they revisit.

Dusk is so much better than this. If this didnt have Bannon and the rest of the bois in it, no one would have given it a second look.

Hard ass record. Haven’t heard anything that is as heavy and to the point as this release

eliminatorjunior, this year or ever?? Cause there are plenty of records that demolish this in terms of heaviness and in terms of good songwriting.

I do love your Sonic Youth username and your Hoax dig though.

Let's see if they can solve the issues noted here on their upcoming record. I like the idea of a death metal Converge heard this once and didn't bother to return I guess lol

Speaking of Bannon side projects, I want some more Wear Your Wounds. Their second LP was really good.

this is tight. very fun stuff. production a little flat though which is kinda surprising. some really crushing riffs here with fun hooks and love the groovy solos on the longer songs. excited to check the new one.
