well on this same topic, Skalpel just released a new album last week. Polish Nu Jazz musician/producer duo if you aren't familiar dedex. they are a lot more laid back than this but I've always been a big fan of them, their self-titled album from 2004 especially, a classic imo. might be something you'd dig.

One thing I'm very partial to in jazz is emphasis on bass tones. Double bass in particular. Probably one of my favourite instruments ever.

Like this fucking fat ass bass groove from this track on the aforementioned new album. That kind of shit is my fucking jam.

This is nice, sounds really fucking good, although it also lacks a bit of substance so far.

I am only halfway through tho.

I listened to one track of the "rejoice" on BBC radio 2 weeks ago.

now you mentioned it. so I know it released officially.

This is the kind of jazz music I'd feel comfortable with. The styles you mentioned before are bold, and I find them very interesting.

I would skip the brighter tunes, listen to the darker ones, "Awakenings", "Symbols of Transformations pt2" "Woah". these three never get skipped. really really great.
