Production is flat. Songs are flat. There's definitely something there to be had on future releases but this is just painfully bland

I heard the album on my morning jog and I liked it. Some nasty riffs and badass vocals

You may need some new headphones, or some new ears. The low end is huge and anything crisper in the production department would have killed the atmosphere on this.

This. Intentionally raw, mixed with some great, heavy bass to add to the oppression.

Counter-point: you may need some new opinions boss hm-2 sounding guitars and crisp production sounds so lifeless to me

Idk. Low end sounds tremendous on a full system to me. Changed the sound of the album entirely from first listen.
Shit sounds apocalyptic

I honestly have no idea what the fuck people are talking about with the "flat production" takes. It's raw but the guitars are god damn crushing on my setup.
It has to be a headphones thing. Will try later on shittier headphones to confirm. That being said, if that is indeed the issue, it means these guys didn't give the final mix the classic/incredibly necessary "shitty car speakers" test, which would be a pretty fucking stupid move.

Definitely feeling the Full of Hell comp, but FoH is way noisier and hectic than this. Not to it’s detriment or anything. Also gonna throw out a Sectioned comp because those two bands first came to mind. This record is way more sludgy than those two, and definitely packs in the hardcore influence more. I also kinda like a Car Bomb comp for some of the electronics they use in combination with heavy music.

Tried this through a number of sources; from the good ol' laptop, couple of Bluetooth options, soundbars, car, the pro sound set I've got in my little studio, $2 headphones - - you get the idea... between 320 rips and a FLAC versions.
I keep getting a lack of that low end regardless. The clarity changes and some of that 'raw' really shines but it's still got very little of the body to bolster it.

The “lol git gud headphones” production argument is so dumb. Most people aren’t listening to music on 200-300$ studio headphones all the time. Good production should sound good on as many listening mediums as possible. Sure, headphones help, but they aren’t gonna make the difference.

Oops, for the record, just so I seem like less of a knob, my comment re headphones was largely said in jest. But yeah, still I struggle to see how theres an absence of low end on this, no matter what you play it through. Its murky, but its huge.
