h8rsgonh8. I agree we get a little more of the same here, but if you like that more of the same then you'll like this IMO. This album gets a 2.5 for creativity, but a 4 for being so daggone beautiful

Voyages is the weakest, because it wasn't a progression in any way from its predecessor, and it was much weaker as a whole. This on the other hand, builds upon Kodama, and the more that I listen to it, the more that I believe that it is an improvement from it.

So far I don’t see this being better than any of their others. Voyages saw them grow and had some of their best songs, only reason it isn’t a classic like Ecailles or Kodama is the middle few songs aren’t that spectacular.

I think right now this is on par for me with most of their others. Kodama is special to me though, still their best for my money.

My expectations were high as fuck, and they managed to make it. The albums makes me dribble like Pavlov's dog. The sound is like a perfect mix of their early stuff and Shelter (which I like, sue me), but it's still unique on its own like every Alcest album. The opening and title track is glorious.

Essentially Kodama's little brother, with less identity - the least of their entire discog, in fact. Songwriting is still good as expected though, and the last track slays. 3.4 atm
