I started jamming this yesterday and I could barely sit through six tracks. I'll see how much I can endure today haha

I was going into this one expecting a clusterfuck... Colour me surprised it’s not, even tho I’m still meh on most of the singles.

I’m definitely gonna give this a fair shake. I want to like it. As I said before, I actually kinda like California so I’m hoping this is decent as well.

this isn’t as bad as I was expecting, some really great tracks here, but so much of it is fucking trash. if they ditched Feldman and started writing their own stuff again, they could easily put something fantastic out.

Gave this a fair shot front to back and I came out not thinking any different. "Darkside," "Run Away," and "Pin the Grenade" are probably the only take away hits for me.

Kind of weird how I actually dont mind the singles within the context of the album. Happy Days even sets this false sense of positivity before the rest of the album gets darker.

I’ve been a Blink fan since I was a kid, and I feel like I’m hearing a different album than everyone else.
I’ve seen this get decent reviews everywhere but I find this album a complete train wreck.

Yeah man get what you are saying. I hear a band that still sounds like they did on the California album only exception is Darkside which sounds like an Alkaline Trio song filtered through the modern blink sound.

Yeah, Darkside is the best song here.
Maybe people want Blink to sound like a 2019 radio band but I sure don’t. Why would you drown the band in electronic drums and auto tune, it doesn’t suit them at all.

I am all for experimentation and maturing but to my ears the untitled, neighborhoods and dogs eating dogs albums all sounds more mature and inspired than these last two albums. I dont get at all how this album is suppose to sound darker and more mature then any of those albums when it just sounds like generic modern pop rock. I am glad other people like this album, it is just not really an album for me.

Sums up my thoughts exactly. I can’t give California or Nine any credit when they sound like a HUGE step backwards from what they were doing previously.

Tracks I Liked:
The First Time, Heaven, Black Rain, No Heart To Speak Of, Ransom
Everything else is just poorly written lyrically, or just simply doesn't sound like blink-182 to me.
I honestly don't know, but it doesn't sound like Skiba was involved lyrically much or even at all.

WhiteNoise Yeah man completely. The only connection between those last two albums and the rest of their discography is the band name.

Do this guys even write their stuff themselves at this point or is it pure John Fieldman?

yeah pretty much. dudes need to book a week with Steve Albini or something

or literally anyone who won't smother their otherwise decent songs in pseudo-EDM effects & auto-overcorrection

"Hoppus hitting certain notes on here sounded like an Animal Crossing character"
