And lol @ albums before 2005. That's over a decade ago my man, we're talking about what's happening now. That style died in favor of chugs. I've had this conversation before though so I'm prepared for everyone to jump on me again.
It HAS been done, but a vast majority are ignoring that kind of stylistic approach.

obviously there are tons of shit deathcore bands, but even those with 3.0-3.5 avgs here usually have insane riffage & solos, versatile vocalists, etc.
meanwhile any kid from norway can record some fast strumming guitar and lazy blasts beats on his MacBook Pro and it'll be heralded as a massive black metal achievement
