I had a similar experience as Doofus. Already had my phase with Korn, Deftones and co. By the time these dudes, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park showed up I was already bored out of the genre and deep into Kyuss and Neurosis which I had just discovered.

I can see the appeal though and I would have gone crazy about them if I was on my teens... well... maybe.

Who else thinks those ascending electronics on Red Flag in some of the verses is badass?

'Clear as day in ‘99. Only the 13 and unders listened to this and if they liked the band then they got the t-shirt - it was like a tween goth invasion.' (2)

I'd not really thought about it before, but man is this accurate. It was weird how many kids had the related 'attire'. Excellent marketing, must admit.

I'll probably give this a spin, could be alright.

Meh, not as good as comments made it sound.

I enjoyed the experimentation, new sounds, interludes and so on.

But pretty much every song has at one point terrible or just plain boring parts that make it hard to sit through. And the production is really bad, with some instruments or vocals that sometimes get eaten up in the mix in the middle of the part.

This album has some of the best riffing they have done in years…but that’s about it. I am not saying it is bad. I guess I just expected more.

So many great tracks but Orphan, A Liar's Funeral and Nero Forte are my favorites as of now.

"Nero Forte" is especially good IMO! I love the almost rapped stanzas and the falsetto-kind chorus!

nero forte was my favourite track honestly but the cutting out of all out life was due to the firing of chris fhen which means he basically owned part of the song and could sue slipknot for a large amount if they put it on the album so to stay safe they keeped it off
