Album Rating: 3.5
Well, given that the Blue Album and Pinkerton both have a 4.4 avg around here I seriously doubt that

Weezer is intensely mediocre and I will never understand why we all decided they were worthy of 25+ years of largely squandered stardom and success when the decade they came from was so overflowing with excellent power-pop.

Stop shitting on Weezer. There's a perfectly shit band to complain about right above your stupid goddamn avatar.
|

I am sorry. That was uncalled for.

We all get a little heated when people trash on stuff we like, happens to the best of us (:
On a more related note I've heard about half of this now, and uh. It sure is a Black Keys album.

Almost El camino number 2 !
Yeeyyy
|
| |
El Camino had much more of a pop sensibility to it than this, this kinda feels like it's splitting the difference between their pre-Danger Mouse stuff and their post-Danger Mouse stuff, and imo ends up being less interesting than either :/

increasingly confused about why i ever liked El Camino

El Camino was a ton of fun. Perfect summer rock album.
This emulates that style and accomplishes it more consistently but slightly less impressively. I still prefer El Camino, but this isn't far behind.

Overproduced Black Keys is bad Black Keys. Poorly mastered as well.

Rubber Factory is where it's at with these guys

Production is absymal, no decent single on the album. It is boring as hell and I personally prefer to listen to them when they didn't try to make a pop hit by emulating something they already did. Their earlier shit is much better and it was before the band developed ego problems. They are hard to like.
Also, Weezer has four albums essentially:
Blue Album, Pinkerton, Maladroit, and the White Album.

These guys still haven't released anything that matches the quality of their first three albums. Hmm.

Green is a good album

The Slack Keys

Damn, as someone who likes all their music from Big Come Up to Brothers, this got me skeptical but I'll give a listen.
|

Let's not pretend like their earlier blues-rock revival sound wasn't good.

It was. But after Brothers their material was just subpar at best. This one sounds ait.

I was about to say everything after Magic Potion is ass but I just noticed I gave Brothers a 4 and I dunno wtf happened there
