also, are your google searches in japanese? you're going to get much better results if you search "大森靖子 クソカワPARTY アナログ" rather than "seiko oomori kusokawa party vinyl"

I want this record on my wall ugh, might save for a tower records trip
|
| |
not that many copies of this left at retail; zero online and only a few on the shelves. you can use the Tower website to see which stores have it in stock http://tower.jp/ec/StoreProcure/StoreProcureItem.aspx?iid=4823156
retailers and stores still have tons of Sennou vinyl available tho
|
| |
Saw Johnny repping this in another thread. Should I check?
|
| |
Idk the best starting point tbh lol, I still gotta peep this tho
|
| |
yea start with one of her earlier records. Johnny says Sennou or Tokyo Black Hole are better intros. you could also go chronological if you want (her earliest stuff is very acoustic guitar heavy, folk/singer-songwriter type stuff)
|
| |
I started with Zettai Shoujo and have also jammed the two after it, I'm liking what I've heard so far

Chronological is probs best, but you've gotta commit if you go that way - lotta rough vox and paint stripper guitar antics that are probs tough if you're not already on board (less so on ZS) - otherwise, Sennou/TBH are a good way in
Like I think the rev maybe says (lol, been a while), this one is probably a fun but slightly shallow novelty pop jam if you go in blind, but if you get the bigger picture of what's she's about (inc lyrics), it hits like a truck

dunno if ppl have seen but Seiko's done a bunch of livestream concerts over the past few months. she did one at Liquidroom a couple days ago for her 33rd birthday and it ruled. peep the setlist: http://natalie.mu/music/news/397307 for 7:77 they had a giant teddy bear doin the dance moves next to Seiko.
you can still buy a ticket here and watch the replay for another 23 hours (you can also illegally download and save the stream cuz vimeo) http://oomoriseiko.zaiko.io/_buy/1nFN:7GV:374c0
|
| |
i like how nobody knew Seiko was married until earlier this year but we've somehow gotten to the point where the new single is called "Marriage" and the cover is just Seiko and her hubby
edit: oh, they have a 5-year-old kid too (he's in the music video) http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/2060601/full/

she was/is a 12 yr old girl lol, looked relatively healthy but a tiny bit louder and nuttier than most 12 yr old girls
i acc forgot who she was/what she looked like beyond the vaguest specs (which like 4 other masked girls in her class matched bc japan) but then worked out who she was by slightly cracked energy, which was expected bc idk what kinda 12 yr old who understands japanese finds themselves drawn to lyrics like these, jfc
