2 looks like absolute shit tho. I put about 12 hours into it and got sick of looking at all the awful animation. Skipped straight to 3 and never looked back.

I just did NG++ a couple months ago and came away more impressed than ever. The fashion souls and weapons/play style possibilities in 2 are by far the most expansive in the series.
Maybe there have been some patches as well, I don't know. I just know I played SOTFS on a X and thought it looked fantastic in the vast majority or areas.

the thing with 3 is that it feels too much by the numbers... replaying DS1 recently, and the game's got this weirdness to it that 3 lacks. In 1, the one to entrust you with the fate of the world is a narcoleptic horse-toothed serpent. shit's kinda silly. 2 feels the same way. 3 feels too safe at times, like it takes itself too seriously.
3 is definitely for fans, i wouldn't recommend as your 1st Souls game.
