the playthrough video of ONYX is still a classic, not only the playing technique but also the camera capture.

It's sad really, they had so much potential

They broke up, right? I think Napoleon did, too. Two similar bands that drifted off.
I saw Invent, Animate news earlier but didn't check it. What's the word there? Though I'm hesitant to check them without their vocalist.

Yea these guys are done. Napoleon released an album in like 2018 but I heard it wasn't that good unfortunately
Invent Animate finally released music with their new vocalist, and while his harshes are very good his cleans are very hit and miss, mostly miss. The music is still solid, not as good as Stillworld tho. Their new album comes out March 13th, I'm pretty hype.

@Trilo that is correct. This will always be a solid EP and a good example of 'prog-core' done right.
@Steak I actually really liked their sophomore effort lol, thought it was as good or better than their debut. Weird how I ended up being the contrarian in that case.
That's good news! But like I've said before, Ben's lyrics and delivery helped carry that band in my eyes. Without him, I fear it'll come across to me as generic. Why did he leave in the first place?

I never gave it a shot so I might give it a go if you say it's good brother
And yea that's a fair concern, Ben was fantastic and it would've been hard shoes for anybody to fill. He left because touring was exhausting him and he lost the passion to do it which is sad, but at least he left on good terms. I saw on twitter the other day that he's gonna go to their show in a few days, maybe he'll do some vocals for old times sake lol

He really did have one of the more unique tones I've heard, period. Unfortunate that he lost the enthusiasm. It's a cutthroat industry, man.

Is this the same clean vocalist as one on Eve?

Sounds much more in top form on Lumiere, not sure what happened between releases. I think maybe he might have hurt his voice considering some of the high notes he belts out, leading to a lackluster performance on Eve.

Cleans seem to mesh a lot better on this one

Absolutely. Like I said, I figure he might have strained himself and had to scale back/switch up delivery. Either way, Eve fell flat, which was a big disappointment considering how much I used to enjoy this EP. Had high hopes. and now they're broken up and gone away. Napoleon too for that matter.

I find it kind of weird that they would entirely drop this band for Brand of Sacrifice, they could have just put this band on hiatus or something

In fairness, if they were gonna stick to the sound they moved to, I wouldn't be interested in anything more out of this project.

I would be interested to see an unclean only record from them because I think that's where they where strongest on Eve, either that or get another clean vocalist if the main guys clean vocals are strained

Might not have been a bad idea considering how strong his harsh vocals are to this day. Unfortunately, I don't see that being in the cards; I think this is firmly in the rearview mirror for them going forward.
