But the djent isn't overdone. The great thing about this album is that the band knows how to get heavy but uses it as just one of the tools in their box rather than as the main tool and it's used to brilliant effect.

I donut like djent at all but I like the album cover and like dreamy music. Deftones listed as similar band makes me intrigued.

„literally jumped through my room headbanging rn letting out a pained oof at the end“
I slipped in the shower when that middle part of Smartfriend hit, great shower album btw.
I think this warrants a higher rating.

"I recommend listening to the title track by itself. If that song doesn't grab you then this album probably isn't going to do much for you."
Bro, I listened to the title track a couple of days ago bc it just came up while listening to some other stuff on youtube, I would've never realized it was Vola... and I didn't like it, today I took some time off and listened to the whole album a couple of times, I like it waaaaaaay more than inmazes, and my least favorite track is the title track LOL. that said, album is very good, I want to give it more spins....

Agree, 42 minutes feels too short.

"my least favorite track is the title track"
That's rather curious considering that the title-track is basically an encapsulation of the album's sound; synth hooks, piano melodies, vocal harmonies and dj0nty riffs. Which song is your favourite?

It's awesome to see this band get more recognition not just on Sputnik but across the board. I remember when I reviewed their debut here, had literally never heard of them before and neither had most people on here, and now they're doing tours with Monuments and playing at Euroblast. Time flies.

They were already getting some hype from the first record, but this one looks like it's really gonna break them out.

@Sitar
I have a couple... Alien Shivers, Whaler and Still.... I also have a soft spot for Vertigo.
|

I think that I somehow find the initial vocal harmonies for the TT out of place in the context of the whole album, when the chorus hits all that changes....
