I've always found New York to be a bit underrated.

funny, as a youngin I found super-glossy rock music like this and Muse to be the best sort of music ever

now its kinda like watching a Michael Bay movie

The album was released in 2000, so "Walk On" is dedicated to or discussing an event other than 9/11

"Walk On" is about Burmese peace activist Aung San Suu Kyi

Excellent album. Plenty of good energy on it. Propably I got crucified because of blasphemy but i prefer this one to "Achtung Baby". All that you can't leave behind is more lively and natural. Resembles a more commercial version of "Joshua Tree".

Love this album, so much nostalgia. If they had had Electrical Storm in place of Peace on Earth or Grace it would be even better.

maybe if the tracklist was something along the lines of

1 levitate

2 always

3 stuck in a moment you cant get out of

4 electrical storm

5 kite

6 walk on

7 when i look at the world

8 stateless

9 new york

10 the ground beneath her feet

wouldve been the SHIT if this was the tracklist but instead we got fucking elevation

I'll try out that track list, like the alternate one for Atomic Bomb we were discussing in that thread a little while ago. I'll always love Elevation though. I used to sing the chorus with friends and family at various times growing up, these songs were everywhere throughout the 2000's.

havent actually heard a couple of these songs in a while so im not entirely sure where some of them would go in the tracklist. always is like an early version of beautiful day so use whichever of those two songs you prefer

ground beneath her feet is essential listening tho. levitate is also one of the best songs that nobodys heard from them

This album is, and I'm sorry about it, arguably U2's worst album. It sounds like a prefaded, formated version of their earlier works that lacks any kind of magic.

Agreed for the most part but I actually enjoy the shit outta Elevation haha. Levitate is awesome. They have some decent B-Sides/Non album songs out of the No Line on the Horizon sessions. Check out their song Winter if you haven't heard it, it should have made that album IMO.

I've never digged the B-sides of this period, the band seems washed-up and barely able to auto-pilot themselves towards what seems to be frantic auto-parody.
