Lyrics are something I always give a read, part of my process with majority of albums I listen to. Especially on an album like this. It makes the listen all the more rewarding.

cant shake how much this sounds like turnover and even title fights most recent, yet everyone still says that TSSF rules pop punk. like this is some groundbreaking work or something.

I don't think anyone here claimed it to be groundbreaking, this is just a refreshing change in sound for a band who was in a stagnant state

all about dat execution. Life's Not Out to Get You by Neck Deep wasn't groundbreaking either, but that's not why everyone loved it. TSSF just shows they are still at the top of their craft, this time with more dynamics and variety.

Most of the time I have to listen to music is when I’m either at the gym, driving, cleaning around the house, or certain instances at work. So finding time to read through the lyrics is near impossible for me, as I don’t just sit and listen to an album while doing nothing else, which is why they’re the last thing I focus on. Definitely not due to a lack of intrigue or anything, just more a matter of circumstance

This is pretty damn good. More of a progression of their last album.
They are now mid-tempo jangle and less tr00 pop-punk d beat.
The lyrics here are darker than anything we have heard from them, we all knew Parker had a drug problem (his insta is pretty baked) but this is candidly honest.

Growing On You's chorus is gorgeous. I do see comparisons to those bands but TSSF pull their sonic shift off differently and WAY better than Title Fight... maybe better than Turnover too cos to this day it annoys me they don't touch their old sound at all

Line and Growing on You is such an amazing 1-2 punch. Perfectly shows the amount of change the band pulled off here.

Lyrics like "Your boyfriend is a dork, McLovin" really make us understand the struggles of Parker, heavy shit.

Growing On You to Light Year is brilliant tbh
And yeah I love when Parker drops that line best bit of the album
