Finally got to hear the second disc today. Why didn’t you address the content of the second disc at all? It’s kind of on the nose at times and not really successful, imo. Plus the first song (probably the best track) is 10 + minutes and not short in comparison to the first disc at all.
Uh. So. Disc one is a 4, almost a 4.5. Consistently great with a fantastic closer. But, disc two is a misstep and is probably a 3 at best with two great songs, but mostly listless with a poor closer.

I love disc 2. I was fearing it would be all-out-americana-coal-miner stuff like on Kentucky.

I would have preferred that. The folk moments on Kentucky had much more character, imo. Aside from the opener and At The Foot of the Mountain, disc two felt uninspired and, at times, almost forced. Hoping it grows on me because I normally love folk/country influenced stuff.

Interesting. I found the tracks on Kentucky extremely forced, almost cringey.

That’s how it goes sometimes. Not the first time I’ve heard that critique.
