"The New Cult King is another powerful keyboard based track, but also has a very powerful bass line. Also, Jeffery Nothings vocals are noticeably a lot different sounding on this track (no nasal in his voice). "

That's cuz it's not just Jeffrey singing here. There's a third vocalist.

And Dryden, you're just a troll I can see that now.

Album is more influential then a new listener can understand. In my opinion an under rated album.. i give them much more credit.. especially since slipknot is much less original after taking influence from mushroomhead without crediting

Condemned man conflicted man could not save my life cutting strand by strand

Awesome stuff. 'The Wrist' also rules. They are a very original band in my opinion, sorta underrated
because of the Slipknot comparisons. How the hell do they sound like Slipknot anyways?

One of my biggest guilty pleasures ever. Jmann was really good.

I 100% agree with the production being pretty bad it is the main problem with this album. Everything sounds a bit muted (especially Skinny's drums which is not cool) I think this would be a solid 4.5 with better production.

Old review, I know, but I wanted to make a correction, anyway - Mr. Bungle actually invented the mask gimmick, and bands like Korn, Slipknot and Mushroomhead took a great deal of influence from them. Look up the video for 'Quote Unquote' or any of their early '90s live shows.

Their cover of Empty Spaces is awful, the song works best in the context of The Wall, and because it flows perfectly into Young Lust I always expect to hear it once this song ends.

I'll probably just take your word for it. When Mushroomhead tends to cover a song, even I can admit that they sound awkward as hell; "Rumor Has It", anyone?

Yeah, considering I already jammed the first three albums, I just feel like I should avoid this.

Having seen them live a handful of times, it's quite easy to dislike Mushroomhead.

I personally like them myself, though I can see why others are either indifferent or outright dislike these guys.

'having seen them live...'

Ok i totally agree. That's the best reason to dislike a band..The live performance.

I've never seen them live..Only on youtube.I think that they are pretty cool i guess from the videos that ive seen.I know its far more different from a real live performance but...Really????Mushroomhead live sucks???

They're terrible live. I dig some of their tunes and I've seen them twice and both times they were outrageously low energy for a Metal band, mostly just stood around, both vocalists were all over the place missing notes and struggling to hit the screams, all around it was 2 very bad sets.
