Yeah yeah, and like I said I think part of this is more an issue on the critical end than the musicians'. Read the p4k review today for example, and while I haven't listened to this artist yet from what I gather it's mostly full band stuff and even though the act is nominally a group they don't mention anyone else by name and barely make reference to any other aspect of the music than Jordan herself. It's a problem I have in my own reviewing but it's prevalent in professional criticism too.

Their new album sounds like every other album this year, I get where you're all coming from.
Some neat guitar parts - tired sounding and tiring vocals. Only J Mascis can get away with this type of low energy singing over fuzzy guitars
So far not too bad though

I mean, she's not directly responsible for what people say or write about her band, it's not like she's being disingenuous or anything. Anyways I'm sad y'all find her boring, I hear some similarities but I think what she's doing is a lot more singular and personal, really honing in on a specific sound
