Good review. 4.5 is still too high imo, but make no mistake this is the band’s best output. Some of the vocal hooks are so damn catchy.

This is pretty damn good. Is it weird that, to me, this feels like what it might have sounded like if Michael Jackson had decided to make a rock record?

I can see that somewhat. I think his replacement in EMarosa has a much more MJ feel though.

After a few more listens, I've concluded that this is their most consistent album, even though I think their last album had more standouts. Still, band is very consistent. Every album is a 3.

Band called Coletta released something similar to this this year but infinitely better, I definitely recommend it, especially to people that already enjoy this.

I might give that a listen, but I'm kinda growing off this style in general

This is definitely Slaves' best album. I can understand the hatred of Jonny, I mean that's fucking easy, but I can't understand giving this any less than a 2.0. To each their own, I suppose.
