I actually wonder.
Funerals Dreams is the best song these guys have ever released (closely followed by Jhator) and there is absolutely 0 moment in the new album that is comparable to any of the great moments from this song. More emotions and ideas conveyed in 9 minutes than in an entire hour.

Jammed the s/t the other day and man it's just as bloated as this despite being like 20+ minutes shorter. At this point I'd rather have their hour long albums just to get more quality moments.

i don't think this is bloated at all
the first three tracks on this are basically flawless, there's a bit of a lull with herion waltz and tomb omnia but then the last two tracks are back to the quality of the first three, and i think that lull is only because of the sheer quality of the tracks that surround it rather than there being anything wrong with those two tracks inherently

It feels like and endless swamp of sameness to me. Their songs are very long but never very dynamic, it's so tiresome. Conversely, I imagine this is paradise for you if you dig their sound so much.

I didn't feel that way at all or at least wasn't as engaged by it as you seem to be noctus. You can tell these guys have talent however and do what they are trying to achieve really well. Just didn't really strike a chord with me I guess.
