if you check Joey's gram it's full of pedal demos where he claiiiiims that they will turn into ITO songs someday. here's hoping sooner than later. this is the longest they've spread between releases

I'm fine with this band taking their time. Rearm Circuits came out at the end of 2017, so it really hasn't been too long. Their biggest weakness is a lack of diversity so hopefully they come out swinging in 2020 with some more variety and dynamics and write that 5/5 that I know they have in them

Not a bad stretch considering they release albums more swiftly and consistently than most bands. But yeah, they do have a formula they stick to. It works for me every time but I am starting to get curious about what they'd sound like if they diversified a bit.

i'd love something completely different for them but this is a formula i could probably live with.
minus this album compared to Pilot Waves, I think each album has definitely shown growth/refinement

yeah they've got a good approach for churning out 4's to 4.5's, but every time they do something a little different I'm like "oooh, yes, a little more of this and you'll get that 5"

It really does feel like a lifetime since I've seen something from these guys, before it felt like they were releasing something like every 6 months

yeah, I remember when I found them in 2014 when self-titled released and Pilot Waves was only a year and a half later.
hopefully this break is for the better

These guys crushed the small live show I saw them at around 2018, hoping for more

The Spotless Mind is overall a tighter version of the Kill Your Ex album. it kinda blends and meanders but damn it's got some really great moments!! made me super happy/reminded me of late high school/early college basement shows. oh, the nostalgia
