Yeah but no one liked their nu-metal phase. I was hoping they would be embarrassed by that. And I dig some nu-metal but it was not a good look for them. It's even more pathetic now that it's like two decades out of date and they are all late 40s/early 50s.

I still don't really think that this is as awful as everyone is rating it to be.
Maybe they just turned it off after Bastards and thought "well this is the whole album anyways so what's the fucking point?"

Bastards is good. It's corny as fuck but the emotion and intention behind it is totally genuine and it comes through in the music. I think most people have been incredibly reactionary in writing this album off on the day of release. It's super uneven and cringey at times but it's at worst below average.

It's not the worst track off the album, but if it had better lyrics I think it could've been an okay song. The style doesn't really suit them though.

Triple Beam is like top 3, California Bleeding is bottom 3. Bastards, well, I don't even know what that is really, but it's an interesting experience at least.

There's like, 5 or 6 bad songs on here. But out of a 15-track album, I'd still say that's pretty decent tbh.

exactly... I don't know why they didn't just put out a 10 track album like a reg band, other than they just don't really give a fuck about quality control anymore.

because they wanted "to be different" on this
to be fair, they did kind of needed to break the mold a little bit, but here I think they went too far.

they're at a point where they don't need to try to prove themselves anymore. They've already done that. They're never topping The Blackening or anything from that era, so they're just having fun at this point.

I feel like whatever shit they made post Bloodstone they just decided to slap on here

Bloodstone was super bloated as well. The overall quality was way higher though, even for the filler.
