One of my all time favorite albums. If you’re a fan of this then I can’t recommend enough to pick up the Peaceville records vinyl reissue of this as it is incredible. It finally gives these amazing songs a beautiful dynamic mix where everything is heard clearly yet still dirty enough to retain all of its gloomy atmosphere. Also, it’s not a drum machine. The band bought their own studio with the money from the previous album and it had a small room that could only fit an electronic drum kit, so the drummer played all the drums like you would sitting behind a normal drum kit but it was an electronic one with the pads instead of real symbols. So he is actually playing every drum hit you hear, it’s just on electronic drum heads programmed to sound like each piece of a real kit ex) symbols, snare, toms, etc... I think it goes perfect with these haunting and strange sounding songs. So much creativity went into these guys making this album and you can feel it in every song. Such a shame they got zero promotion from their label when it was supposed to be released and has taken years to finally find an audience, sort of.

This is a band I didn't really get into until I had tickets to a show they were co headlining. Seems like I'd dig most of their stuff but they did play a few songs that did nothing for me. Sounded like they probably came from the same album. Would have to dig to figure out which album that is. I know the one from 2010 wasn't really my cup of tea when I tried it so it may be that one
