been jamming Grace since probably 2005. i suck for not having heard this sooner - this is amazing. still haven't heard Sketches.

Buckley plays the best version of Halleluljah ever emitted from a guitar despite his A string being out of tune mindblowing

this is excessive but still essential. it'd be fascinating even if it was just the songs from Grace

The version of 'Lover, You Should've Come Over' here is hauntingly beautiful. Seriously digging this collection.

yeah all the songs from Grace sound excellent. even if I break it up, some of the covers on the second disk kinda wander a bit. but it's interesting hearing him kinda take on some of the mannerisms of the artists he's covering. i like the monologues too.
it's always fascinating, and very rare, to hear a live album with an artist performing songs to an audience without recognition of the material. this was recorded before Grace was released. same kinda deal with Neil Young's Live At Massey Hall - he plays songs from Harvest before that album was released. but this is way more low key.
Grace is still my go-to Buckley album but this is maybe the purest display of his talent

can't believe i'm saying this but i think jeff's voice misses the mark a tiny bit in lover you
should've come over on here
|
| |
i dont think his voice was as developed here as on Grace this was 93 lot of things can change in a year, still amazing
though
