@RippingCorpse: I fucking love this part from his Fly by Night review:
"Songwritingwise, they're addressing the real-life documentarian concerns of a young hungry rock band in such non-fictional road life accounts as "Fly By Night," "Best I Can" and "Making Memories," as well as mentioning...umm..."elves" (THANKS NEIL) in "Rivendell," a colossal fight between an evil being and a snowdog in -- now see, here's my problem with analyzing Rush lyrics. I don't have a background in geek loser dorkdom. So I can read lyrics like "By-Tor & The Snow Dog" and think to myself, "Oh, he's singing about so-and-so, it appears to be a metaphor for blah blah blah," but chances are that Neil is just referencing some gayass role-playing board game or faggotybutt book about pixies that people read when they're eight years old and wear glasses."

Really love his Rush and Yes reviews.
From his Tormato review:
""Arriving UFO" starts off hokey, but jeez does it get noisy when the aliens show up! And "Release, Release" is their spastic attempt to play a normal upbeat rock 'n' roll song. They can't do it! They can't even stay in 4/4! They know it's too boring, so they have to make it as complex as humanly possible. Fantastic and hilarious. Complete with a moronic "live" drum solo. Silly kids. A mostly enjoyable record, but extremely fruity, and completely immature in almost every way. Rick Wakeman's dumbass beard, for example."

Plus, his review of British Steel by Judas Priest is fuckin legendary
|
| |
Lol are all these negs coming from the same guy's alts? The pacing seems a little suspect.
|
| |
Wow, those negs built up fast. Damn.
|
| |
what do you expect with such an edgy take on a beloved artist?
|
| |
This review is fucking glorious man, the negs are bullshit
|
| |
I mean its really not that great as review because half of it literally is him being angry that someone who lost their sex appeal is trying to have sex appeal, I mean I guess I understand but for that to be 80 percent of the reason you hate an album???
|
| |
Is Madonna really all that beloved though? At least on Sput?
EDIT: Just checked album scores... I guess I'd give that a tepid "beloved..."
|
| |
I'm not saying a neg or two is surprising, I'm just saying it's pretty suspicious that basically 10 negs in a row came so quickly, especially in defense of album with a fucking 2.5 average. I'm simply willing to bet that there are alts at play.
|
| |
Dude
These are NOT alts at play lmao
It literally is just a very flawed review
|
| |
The review had like 13/13 yesterday and now is 18/28 wtf
|
| |
It was 17/17 actually, and now it's 18/28. Some gremlin is at work here.
|
| |
Did you just call me nigga
Do you know me lmao
|
| |
Idk, it's hardly bad enough to warrant that many negs imo simply because there are parts that actually do paint me a decent picture of the album, perhaps I just more so strongly disagree with why he didn't like the album, which is kind of stupid but I guess not neg-worthy.
|
| |
Probably not, what's good though? Does a common term used to address online acquaintances hold any meaning to you?
|
| |
MY DUDE
|
| |
Yeah exactly, it isn't inherently poorly written. I'm really just more impressed that someone is willing to go to this length to defend Madonna on Sputnik of all places (in the very likely event that all these negs are indeed related).
