Ripper's Experiment of Existence is very underrated too.

I have to get into Ripper. I've been hearing good things.
|

There's some cool modern thrash stuff on that label (Unspeakable Axe Records).

Also Escaping Gravity, although that's more like melodic thrash/power metal.

Good call, that Ripper album is underrated as hell
|
| |
Yeah I think I've jammed that album and Condor's Unstoppable Power more than this, but this is still very good and enjoyable. Gonna rejam it these days.

Maaaaan just listened to this again, wayyyy better than I remembered tbh. Firing Squad and Waiting Around to Die are fun and catchy as hell.
Can see me bumping this eventually. Fun shit.
Also, that cover art has to be one of the best thrash artworks of last year imo. It captures and lives up to the album's relentless and punchy content.

i just love the mixing of this album. everything sounds so massive

"Contra Omnes, Terrestrial Mutations > this"
Bestial Invasion are pretty sweet instrumentally but i hate their vocalist, and Droid are pretty sweet too but that album does not need to be an hour long. this is short and sweet, id take it over either of those any day. agreed with rippingcorpse that Experiment of Existence is underrated.
y'all need to check Vulture - The Guillotine if you havent.

The Guillotine was pretty great.

So, Bestial Invasion is worse because of the vocals? Gee, really scraping the bottom of the barrel there.
I'd agree that Droid's release may be a bit overlong but much of it was good so that makes up for the length.

the vox ruin the music for me, yep.

I can see why someone wouldn't dig Bestial Invasion because of the vocals. A bit over the top at first, I guess, same situation happens with the Gross Reality album (vocalist sounds to me like a weird mix of Paradox's Charly Steinhauer and the dude from Prototype). Guitar playing is stellar though; ''Event Horizon'' is a fantastic track and easily my favorite off that album.
I'm holding out hope that Black Fast, Skeletonwitch, Tantara or Toxic Holocaust do something decent this year.
You all should check Tantara's Based on Evil btw. One of the most underrated modern thrash albums of 2012, I find. Such a relentless and killer record. Looking forward to their upcoming album Sum of Forces.

For now, I need to listen to The Crown's Cobra Speed Venom. I've been reading a lot of positive comments and reviews about that album. Also new Angelus Apatrida.
|
| |
Retrash by Oozing Wound is everything i could want from a crossover album. Check it out if you haven't. It's dripping with the same Chicago filth you can expect from a band like Culo.
|
| |
Lol i guess check Culo too while you're at it
|

God damn that Vulture album sounds dope, also gonna grab that Tantara album

Cobra Speed is outstanding. New Angelus is pretty good too.
Also looking forward to new Tantara as well, and Black Fast...though I didn’t care for Black Fast’s last album.

Cool!
Nothing wrong with some modern thrash from time to time. Only modern thrash recs I've jammed this year so far are Extinction A.D. (very cool) and Tulkas (a Mexican band, solid stuff).
I kinda feel like I've been missing the usual ''thrashy surprise'' of the year (kinda like how in 2016 was Witchery, Ripper and Vektor and in 2017 was, idk Droid? Bestial Invasion? Vulture? these guys and Condor??), so I'll check them right now. Also new Aura Noir.

Ive been jamming Condor hard.

Cobra Speed Venom is amazing. Really dig the closing track.
Iron Crown, In the Name of Death, t/t and Necrohammer are also among my favorite songs off the album.
Need to listen to new Angelus more, it sounds killer and catchy.
