Ok man, u know what, I am gonna check it back to back with Rattle & Hum (cause honestly I don't remember like half of the album) and report back.

Indeed Ash. Ok jammed it in full, there's nothing here for me, I prefer the shitty covers and live versions of Rattle & Hum to this by a mile.

Didn't even know this was coming out. Weird considering how huge this band is.

Mine was LP's Minutes to Midnight. I've heard that album literally once on the day it released and I still remember the disappointment lol

Same bloc. I was 12 or 13 when Minutes to Midnight was released and beginning to find new stuff, so I was about ready to move on from LP by then anyway.

This is growing on me each time I listen. Red Flag Day sounds like classic U2, and the bass lines on this are great as ash said. Still not sure if I like it more than Innocence though, that was one addicting album for me for some reason.

Innocence has a handful of great tracks (The Miracle, Every Breaking Wave, Song For Someone, & The Troubles) and all the rest contain great ideas but feel either underdeveloped or awkwardly strung together imo. Wouldn't call it "boring as shit" per se but it def doesn't fully grab me like most of their albums do.

I feel like No Line on the Horizon had the exact same issue. So many tracks on there could have been outstanding had they just been properly developed.

Innocence is just a great straightforward rock album imo, I'd add Cedarwood Road, Raised by Wolves, and This Is Where... to your list ash. It's back to basics with a lot of personal lyrics. This sort of is too, but it's also a lot beefier on content, more diverse, and feels more triumphant and compelling so I might end up liking it a bit more than Innocence.

The first five songs and last three of No Line are excellent, really happy they took an experimental direction with a lot of that album. It just should've been structured differently, like Winter and Soon should've been in the middle of the album instead of Get on your Boots and Stand Up Comedy, which would've been fine as bonus tracks or something cause they're good songs.

Yeah, even with No Line's issues, I thought it was one of their best albums still.

@Talons: the first two you mentioned (and Iris and Volcano) really came alive in a live setting but the studio recordings just feel kinda dry in retrospect. Parts of all them are great, others leave me wanting. This Is Where... is pretty decent though, yeah.

No Line is their most underrated album since Pop imo. Those middle tracks everyone's lukewarm on have never bothered me all that much
