Lost me with the political second half. Seems to taint the message of the first...

You'd think with writing an album about losing his best friend Bert would invite Quinn back on board for this... I mean this is pretty great so far, but I can't help but find the fact they didn't keep one of the founding members in the band disheartening over some basically childish debacles. I mean it makes a concept record about a losing a best friend seem a bit contradictory considering he was always his best friend with Quinn and he cut him out without even directly telling him he didn't want him to be a part of the band.

I know a bit of a rant but been a fan of the band for a long time and it just is saddening.

yeah was a real bummer considering they used to write songs about each other (that's how close of buds they were) for example the song blue and yellow was written about Quinn by Bert

i dont think ive ever paid attention to the lyrics of blue and yellow i just think it has one of the greatest vocal melodies ive ever heard in the genre which was enough to win me over

Yeah man one of their strongest tracks and its about Quinn so to see them kick him out for really really dumb reasons is lame, basically was because they thought he was judging them for wanting to stay sober while they all partied. Quinn found out he got kicked out on facebook of all things, its just bullshit imo.

Quinn was part of the reason they made Imaginary Enemy. is it really such a loss he's not on here

It's not so much about his contribution to the band, its about the principal of kicking out a member over a childish feud who's arguably been one of your closest friend since the project started then writing an album about a dude who basically caused Bert's girlfriend and his (would have been) child's death.

It just sorta leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that's all, doesn't ruin the album just affects my overall opinion of the band.
