Giving this a spin now.

EDIT: It is pleasantly off-kilter so far.

im prob gonna have to give this a 4 just on creativity and production and like wow this blew my mind. but damn if it's replay value is pretty minimal. like listening to it to try to understand it, sure, but picking a favorite song is very tough. so you cant really jam the songs individually so you have to commit to listening to this entire album, which is a lot, and there's never a lot of time for that!

ok does that make sense?

It's replay value is excellent and I listen to it almost daily, so, no, I don't know what you're talking about.

"By The Ports of Europe" and "Jupiter" are super easy to listen to as singles.

"The Phantom of Aleppoville" and "One Awkward Fish" too.

listening to this rn and just due to the song structures and the sheer inventiveness of this, it's hard to grasp onto a tangible piece of a song as a "favorite" part, as I'm much more fascinated by the entirety of most of these songs. I definitely am not trying to apply my views to everyone though, so props to you if ya listen to this everyday. I just can't aha

but im glad im not alone Josh!!

yep yep like i love to make playlists and thats how i listen to music on the go or like how I show other ppl music (when I'm working I listen to full albums), but I'd have a really hard time throwing any of these songs onto a specific playlist other than maybe my ~weird~ playlist hahaha.

actually Atomic is kinda right, Jupiter might be the only song on here with "single" value

Jupiter and By The Ports of Europe have decent standalone value

but yeah, this is a very "listen all at once" album for me

which isn't a problem, since as far as those types of albums tend to go, this one is fairly short and always satisfying
