I like that he’s mixed in some of the ‘place to drown’ atmosphere

yeah this definitely has elements of both a place to drown and 6 ft, as well as references to both of the. cool amalgamation of the entire spectrum on 6ft, from neptune estate trip hop shit to filthy lizard state surf rock, refined through the more minimal and nuanced focus of a place to drown. really its the best of all three worlds there.

true that, he has the type of distinct voice that could very quickly go from intriguing to grating if it weren't for how varied his instrumental style is and how versatile he is vocally within those different styles. also appreciate that he is trying new things with his voice on this instead of just going with the gimmick of having a goofy (but awesome) voice.
